The Queen’s Counsel Selection Panel is inviting applications from suitably qualified advocates for appointment as Queen’s Counsel.
Completed applications with payment must be received by 5pm on 30 March 2017.
The cost of application this year remains at £2,160 (£1800 + VAT). There will be a further appointment fee of £3,000 (+ VAT) paid by successful applicants. Those applicants with low incomes (gross fees below £60,000) are entitled to pay concessionary fees, which are half the standard level. The fees may be paid by debit card (preferred), electronic transfer, by cheque or by credit card. There is a supplementary fee for payment by credit card.

Applicants will be informed in early September whether or not they are to be invited for interview. Interviews will take place from mid-September to mid-October. The Selection Panel’s recommendations will be passed to the Lord Chancellor in late October. It is expected that the appointments arising from this competition will be announced before Christmas 2017.
